The Official Site of Woods Cross City, Utah

In the year 2001, The Community of Promise was organized by Mayor Jerry Larrabee and a group of interested citizens. They adopted Colin Powell's five promises called America's Promise. They are:

  1. Caring Adults
  2. Safe Places
  3. Healthy Start
  4. Marketable Skills
  5. Opportunities to Serve.

We now have a group of 25 citizens who serve on a board and meet once a month to help with the volunteer efforts of 10 different functions within the city. All are volunteers:

We serve the community with the Summer Literacy Program, The Senior's Lunch Bunch, City Wide Book Club, The Gardening Group, Suicide Prevention, Emergency Preparedness, and we assist with the Summer Recreation Program and the annual Memorial Day celebration.

We have a great city, good kids and caring adults. Come and join us in our many endeavors and be apart of our numerous and important callings.  We are always looking for interested and ambitious volunteers.

Request for Donations:

The Community of Promise is asking for donations from businesses and residents in Woods Cross City to help subsidize our Summer Literacy Program.  We have received grants in the past, but those grants are no longer available to us.  Every little bit will help.  Please make donations payable to Woods Cross City in care of the Community of Promise / Summer Literacy.
